E-mail in Social Hub

I've just got my first smart phone and it's an Android (Samsung Galaxy W). I'm having trouble with Social Hub. I have the feeds part of it set up fine but in the messaging part I can't do one of my e-mail accounts. My Gmail is fine but I can't add the e-mail address that I get with my ISP (BT). I've selected 'add a new account' and put my BT e-mail address in along with my password but when I click next it says that it is unable to finish set up as it can not connect to server. I've tried three or four times throughout the day. I've tried the manual set up and I'm not sure what 'domain' is - I've been putting btinternet.com but maybe that's wrong (it doesn't work any way). All the other fields are pre populated although I changed the 'exchange server' to mail.btinternet.com as that is what I have in Outlook - it originally just said btinternet.com but that didn't work either. (On my laptop I use either Outlook or Yahoo mail to view this e-mail account if that helps.)
Thanks in advance for any help.

Just in case anyone has this problem in future, here's the solution (I asked my brother). I was trying to add the account in the wrong bit. I should have selected 'others' not 'Microsoft Exchange'. I'd just assumed that cos I used Microsoft Outlook to view the mails on my laptop that I needed to choose Microsoft. So, it was me being thick but maybe others are equally thick and will appreciate the solution.
