E-Mail Notification Tone Has Hiccups

I have 2 e-mail accounts and I have a different notification tone for each. For some time now, when an e-mail arrives for, let's say, account 1, the notification tone for BOTH is activated and also the notification tone for account 1 repeats rapidly about 3 times (like it has a stammer).

It's driving me crazy.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8.0.0
