Help E mail problems

Sounds like the account isn't set up properly. Open up your e mail account on phone. Tap menu. Go to settings. Should see "account settings". Look for "sending mail". Then, tap on "outgoing server."
Check the settings here. I use Optimum Online, and the outgoing settings are mail.optonline.net and the port is 587. The incoming server is the same, but the port is different. You can usually get these by contacting email provider...

From what I have been reading, BellSouth was taken over by AT&T (even though your phone service is provided by Verizon.)
This is old, but the directions should still work.

"We upgraded our phones to TPs two days before the Alltel changeover to VZW. Here's how my TP is set up:
E-mail address: my bellsouth email addy
Your name: my name as I want it to appear in emails
Account display name: what I want the Bellsouth account to appear as in Messaging
Incoming [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]mail [COLOR=blue !important]server[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]: mail.bellsouth.net (AT&T had this wrong on the web)
Account type: POP3
User name: my bellsouth email addy (the whole thing, including bellsouth.net)
Password: my password
Outgoing ([COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]SMTP[/COLOR][/COLOR]) mail server: smtp.att.yahoo.com
Outgoing server requires authentification: Checked
Use the same user name....: Checked
Advanced server settings: Both "Require [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]SSL[/COLOR][/COLOR]..." boxes UNChecked. Network connection: The Internet (They had these all wrong in their online instructions)
Automatic send/receive: Manually
Download messages: From the past 3 days
Advanced settings: Send/recieve... :Checked. When deleting messages: Keep them on the server
Message format: HTML
Message download limit: 2kb"
