Earbud mode--Not!

My gs5 thinks my earbuds are plugged in, but they're not! Phone calls fail, because I can't hear the caller and visa versa. Streaming audio & audio-video don't work, because I can't hear a sound. I thought maybe I found the reason when I deleted a volume control app, but the problem came back. Looking for solutions. Thanks!

It sounds like the headphone jack might be bad and think something is plugged into it. Do you use it often? Have you tried plugging in a pair of headphones or ear buds to see if they work?

Sounds like it could be a bad headphone jack. The solution for that would be to get it repaired.
