Early upgrade options? 1 phone is eligible, other not for a month

Question:
Is there a way to get the new every 2 accelerated?
What have people done with an additional line to facilitate an upgrade?

Background:
I've got a family plan with 2 lines.

I've got a Storm 1 that really needs to go and is starting to fail.
My wife has a curve that she has cracked the screen on and is also having problems.

One line (currently Storm) is eligible for the new every 2 upgrade. The other is about a month out.

I just asked the rep at the local VZW store if I can do the buy 1 get one free and they said no; both lines need to be eligible for the new every 2.

I want to get a droid phone for myself, and I need to get something for my wife.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Find a different sales person or store. I have been able to get in early a couple of times.

Still not sure why the argument about the pricing on the phones when you are re-upping for another 2 year contract. IMO there is not a phone on the planet worth over $150, let alone the $500 at MSRP.

Try calling for the upgrade. They tend to be a lot more flexible with upgrade options than the stores are especially when you are that close.

I had the same issue in January. My old WinMo phone was eligible for upgrade and the other two lines were not eligible until May. I asked the VZW rep (which, of course, is iffy at best) if anything could be done and he informed me that, by Verizon policy, if any phone on your contract is eligible all of them are eligible. Take it for what its worth, but that is what (actually two reps in the same store) he said.

My wife and I just went through the exact same scenario... my line was eligible and her's was 4 weeks away. She called in and let them know we were interested in the BOGO deal on the Samsung Fascinate and they agreed to move our renewal date up so we could take advantage of the offer. We are now the proud owner of two Fascinates. Give them a call... if you don't get the answer you want the first time, don't be afraid to call again if needed.

I just called into Verizon yesterday. Wife's birthday is coming up in 3 days, and our anniversary (#8) in 5. Her phone does not come up for renewal until March. I used hers when I upgraded to the Droid (yeah, that went over well).

I tried to play the combo birthday/anniversary gift card to see if they would tweak our account or a secret handshake to get the promotional pricing, and got shot down, and was told my best option was a "Certified Used". Are you kidding me? And this was from a Female sales rep. Should have asked her how she would feel if her SO did that.

"Happy birthday/anniversary honey. Here is your not new phone. I love you."

I'll be calling again today. Not paying $500 for a phone. Not a phone on the planet worth that much.

when I renewed mine I was actually about 6 months beyond my 2yr.... my wifes was still about 3 months out........ I did mine online and got the Buy1Get1Free.......... gave her the free one .......... I activated them both on same day and it renewed both our contracts....... now we have same dates :)

My wife called in yesterday to see if the online/phone people are any better. They agreed to move up her date, but we can't do the BOGO free. She reactivated an old phone instead.

Not loving this fake BOGO free offer, but the delay will see 2 or three new phones come out...

All you people calling in and getting moved up are starting to irritate me. I called in 3 times and got nothing. Been with VZW since '96, family plan since '04 and 3 lines. Never a late payment and $203 a month. Who's arse are you kissing?!?
