Early Upgrades?

What's the deal with Verizon pushing all these early upgrades? Not complaining really, but I've only been a customer since last September. I paid my bill a couple of days ago, and noticed I was eligible for an upgrade.

I went into Verizon yesterday to add the home phone service... they told me one of my 4 lines is available for upgrade also... We just upgraded that line about a year ago, or a little less. All 4 lines are smartphone and have been for a long time.

Most likely because you have to pay them $20 for early upgrade then you will being paying the cost of a new phone plus they will push the accessories hard. Its all about the money!

yes you pay an extra $20 (thats not bad for a yearly upgrade) but i was under the impression that once you did your next early upgrade or upgrade period you are no longer eligible for the yearly upgrade.... maybe im wrong.

From now on since VZW got rid of the new every 2 credit, now you will be eligible for a discounted price on a new phone every 2 years. From what I was told they just took away the 1 year contracts and the $50 or $ 100 credit that they used to issue towards the cost of a new phone.
