These builds may have been originally for our phones, but every time you port a ROM to a phone you change key aspects of the ROM. These small tweaks people use to port builds can add up, and trying to flash something other than a theme might end up in a soft-brick. Heck in major cases even a hard-brick.

You can throw anything on there but a ROM. ROMs probably not. But most anything else will work.
