eBooks Change Format when transferred

I have a problem I've never seen before. I have lots of my own eBooks in ePub and Mobi format that I'd like to transfer to my GS Tab 3 8.0. When I do, the format will change to PNG format. I even tried to send an email to myself and it changed the format. Is this a DRM problem? Can anyone suggest how to transfer my own eBooks?

I've download all the recommended readers trying to resolve this. I posted this under General because I wasn't sure where to post. I'm new to the forums.


I'd appreciate any help! Very frustrating.

Are you using a transfer program of some sort (don't) or just copying the files from one computer to another (which shouldn't change anything, since digital copying is exact duplication).

No, not using a transfer program. I've copied and cut and pasted on the the SD card and into locations in the reader iteself. Moon+ Reader, Nook and Kindle. When I click on each book it opens it as a pic. When I click on the Mobi book it tells me it can't find a reader associated for that format.

Well as weird as this is I've figured it out. I noticed when I transferred a file to either the SGT or email it would turn it into an Adobe PNG. I have Abobe Suite on the computer I was transferring from. I copied the files to external hard drive and transferred them and it worked great.

I may have some funky Adobe settings I need to look into.
