I've read conflicting reports on what eBuddy does to your battery. Some people say it has very minimal battery drain, and others say it's a battery hog. Opinion?
Welcome to the forum, where you can find conflicting reports on nearly everything.
My opinion is to give it a try for yourself and see how it works for you.
I rarely use ebuddy, but was out of town last week and used it extensively. My battery drained faster than normal, but not "critically" fast. Whereas it's normally down to about 50% by 6pm, it was down to 20% at 6pm.
I myself use eBuddy and know that it does drain your battery faster than normal however you can go into settings and click 'extend battery life'. This will delay messages up to 15 minutes when clicked thereby improving your battery life. The messages will not be instant but you will still get them.
Any app that constantly sends and receives data over 3G will be somewhat of a battery hog. eBuddy does this even if no conversation is going on because it constantly checks to see if there is a new message. Selecting the extend battery life setting in the app makes it check less often.
