Help Echo or feedback on phone

I've had this problem for a while but i thought I had figured it out. When I spoke on my phone, I heard an echo or feedback whenever I spoke. The other people heard nothing. I originally thought it was due to the metal band on my Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal Premium Bumper Case. Originally, adjusting the metal band removed the echo.
Today I found another contributing factor, the position of my phone when I'm talking. I usually use the speakerphone so I don't have to hold my phone. Today I put my phone flat on my chest while I was lying in bed. It was face up with the bottom of my phone towards my mouth. The echo started again. Adjusting, then removing the metal band of my Spigen case didn't help. Turming the phone so the bottom of it faced away from my head stopped it immediately. Turning it back returned the echo. I don't know why this happens, except that I have dropped my phone many times. (Mostly from about 2 feet on carpet and always with a protective slim case) The drops never visually damaged the case or the phone but I can't think of anything else. I hope this helps someone else.

I've run into that on every Android phone I've had at one time or another. I still have no idea what causes it. Plastic phone or metal phone doesn't seem to make a difference.

I feel like it has to do with the Noise Canceling circuitry in the phones.
I always turn it OFF, and then I don't recall hearing the echos anymore.

I worked in telephone switch centers all my working life. We used to have what is called "turn around" whereby the telephone channels if not carefully tuned up and balanced, would reflect part of the sound back to the talker. Very confusing to say the least.

But, with today's Digital services, that is almost impossible now. But, it does happen. I can hear echoes, other people talking ( only one side ) and can hang up, get a new call established and all is okay.
