Help ee19 patch- screen shot glitch freeze up

I was wondering how long before glitches start. Three times today, I went to turn my phone off after sending a text and it took a screenshot just by pressing the power button. And it froze up...I had to change my time-out to 15 seconds so it would shut off. I pulled the battery on the third time. I'm constantly ending all tasks to save battery life, I only have 1-2 bars of service to "0"most of the time. Seems I have had more complications and my patience is running out.
Is it beneficial to the phone to be rooted? I don't play games at all. I have facebook, weather and news, some surfing, and this forum!
I do know how to take a screenshot..and it never freezes up after I do. This glitch when it does it involuntary by just the power button always freezes it up.

The only thing I have been having in common with you is the "no signal" issue. It's constantly struggling to keep a solid signal. I had better signal strength on EC10.
 
I'm experiencing a poorer signal as well, and the poorer the signal, the more likely that the phone will freeze, and the screenshot/power button thing too. I was up in northern wisconsin yesterday and had a terrible time with the phone, and finally after a battery pull, I turned the phone off for the rest of the day. Things seem to go from bad to worse with these updates lately. One problem is fixed and another is created. A lot of wonderful features with the android system, but the phone has to work. My old BB Curve looks better and better these days.
 
Yep. I completely agree. It has some very nice features to it, but at the end of the day, I need it to send and receive calls and text messages first and foremost. The rest is "nice to have". Its a complete shame USCC and Samsung can't get it right. This phone had tons and tons of potential.
 
So yall are saying that if my phone (2.2.1 e10) is working fine, I should let sleeping dogs lie and leave it alone. Not do the e19 patch?
 
I only got updates because I was having problems. If you have no problems, I would STAY PUT for now...
My phone is now freezing up daily with the screen shot glitch, after I text and try to power my phone off.
 
Zip...I can't remember...did you do the EE19 at a store or download it and apply it yourself from a PC?
 
Ha! Yeah, same here.

Still...I wonder if a factory wipe will help you out. Or get the update applied again. My phone has never been more stable than it has been since EE19 was applied. The signal strength just sucks now, that's about it.
