Effective Podcast Management

Hi Guys,

I hope no one resents this as spam. I've been all over the web for two weeks now trying to solve this issue. My question: is there a way to replicate the functionality of iTunes-based podcasts on my new Bionic?

I am a longtime iPod user who just made the jump to Android--really happy with it. However, 95% of what I did with my iPod was listen to podcasts. What I'm looking for is a way to sync them with iTunes that actually works. What I'm not looking for:

A Podcatcher: I believe everyone who says that Doggcatcher and BeyondPod are great, but one of the things I liked most about my iPod was that if was listening to an hour-long music show on my iPod, I could plug it in and pick up where I left off on my computer.

Wireless syncing: To me, this is not a big deal. If I'm sitting at my chair, it only takes an extra calorie for me to bend over and plug the cord into my phone.

Something that just transfers media: the key element here is being able to listen to a show, sync, and then have the podcast be deleted automatically from the phone.

I have tried doubleTwist, Salling, TuneSync, Google Listen, and iTunes Agent. None of them were able to automatically delete things that had achieved a play count of "1" (although I'm not sure where to even find this data on Android). Again, I listen to about 20 different feeds at varying times during commutes, etc, and would just like a way to replicate the intuitive functionality of my iTunes podcast system. If it means jumping ship from iTunes, so be it (I know it's a resource-hog, and I'm unconnected to Apple in any other way, but it's already set up and I'd rather not switch if possible). I'm flexible. If anyone remembers what podcasting was like on Apple's system you'll understand why I miss it.

Thanks a lot!

I'm thinking out loud now:

Install your own personal little cloud on your Mac and your Bionic (see my sig for a free app), and create an 'action'/macro/script with Automator (on your Mac in the Applications folder) that copies a podcast as soon as it is logged by iTunes to your appropriate cloud folder, which starts its upload to the cloud. It is then available for download on your phone (after uploading is finished).
Use Tasker to do a similar thing automatically on your phone: delete the podcast 2 hours after it started, or finished, playing (or whatever time frame suits you) from your cloud folder on the Bionic. That also deletes it from your cloud folder on your Mac.
It will still be in iTunes, though, unless you create another 'action'/macro/script with Automator (on your Mac in the Applications folder) to delete it from iTunes when certain parameters are met (like e.g. 48 or 72 hours after download from the iTunes Store – so you can still make an archival copy before it's deleted, if on second thoughts you think you need that).

And as long as you are on a WiFi connection (or it could get very expensive) you can stream your tracks and podcasts from iTunes on your Mac directly to your phone, i.o.w. 'live', with one of these apps of course.

Free AudioGalaxy is pretty good.
