Ellipsis Tablet is FASTER in battery saver mode

So my Verizon Ellipsis tablet has been slow for over a year now and I've noticed that when I put it into battery saver mode it's 5x faster and that's not even a hyperbole. I've tried virus scanning the tablet and even factory reset it 3 times..any ideas of what I can do to bring my tablet back up to speed?

Battery saver usually blocks background apps from running or syncing so you may gain a bit of CPU power.
