Email and Sync Issue

Hey guys,

This is my first post and it is about the first Android phone I have owned. I recently got a Gmail account and several other Google services (Google Voice, Google Play, etc.) and I linked my Google account to my phone and my Gmail account to my Gmail app. Now, I would like to link it to my stock Email app. I know a lot of people don't think it is a good app, but regardless, I would like to do it.

Here's the problem. I have another email account linked to my standard Email app that works fine. I tried to link my Gmail account to my Email app and it worked; however, it won't let me send or receive emails. But my Gmail app is linked to the account and will still do both. I tried going so far as to remove my Google account synced to my phone, remove the Gmail account synced to the Gmail app, and then remove it from my Email app as well. However, when I tried to remove the Gmail account from the Email app, it said I had "Invalid Credentials."

So, I know that is a lot of information, but does anyone have any ideas? I really just want to get my Gmail account synced to Email app so that I can get all my email in one place (and I am not allowed to forward my other account to Gmail, or else this problem wouldn't exist).

My thanks and appreciation, in advance, to anyone with any suggestions!

Welcome to Android Forums OneHollowGrave:)
What kind of device do you have:confused:
You could try going into Settings-Applications-Manage Applications-All and find the Email app. Click on it and clear data and cache for the app itself.
When you open it again in the app drawer you will have to enter your login credentials again for each email account you wish to link to that one app. Let me know if this solves your issue.

Thank you so much, gbiggie, your advice totally worked. And sorry for not listing my device, it is a Razr Maxx. Once I erased the data and re-synced both my accounts, they were both functional. My phone still gave me another warning about having duplicate accounts and the fact that it might waste battery life, but I told my Gmail app not to sync my mail and I think that should keep any battery life from being wasted. Thank you all so much for your advice and help!
