Help Email app doing some very odd things

A week ago, the email app stopped updating (my Macbook could acess my IMAP account without problems, so I assume it's the phone).

I've re-setup my email account and all seemed ok for a couple of hours, but again it's no longer seeing new emails and when it does see them, it doesn't appear to download them and notify me.

See the attached screenshots - the email icon has a "1" but there's nothing in the toolbar (the settings in the email app are set to notify me). And in the app itself, there's "(1)" at the top, but no new emails to be seen.

Anyone else having this problem?

I could not stand the stock samsung email app
I found enhanced email to be the best and never had any problems with it and I have 3 accounts on it, yes it cost 10 but well worth it

You could try a factory reset if all else fails.

You could try to clear its cache and data in settings, applications

I dont like the stock email either. You can only pull emails back up to a certain date. When I had my Droid X, I could pull emails as far back as I wanted.
