Email app for quick logon logoff

I am looking for some advice re a suitable email app for a pop3 account. We don't want to have email on our Samsungs on the go 24/7, happy to use our PC's Outlook for that. Would just like to have the flexibility if we are out of the office to be able to logon, check emails, process if necessary, logoff. We have set our pop3 account to keep emails for 3 days. I know we could just logon to mail2web through the phone's browser, but if there is something a little sleeker out there, that would be great. Thanks!

The stock email app does not allow you to logoff. To close, you have to delete the account, and then next time you want to use you have to set up the account again. I don't want to have to enter all that info again, and wait for set up. Just a quick logon logoff.

Strange, and a pain. I have been googling for a couple of days trying to discover if there is a way to logoff, but it seems to be a common complaint - and frustration. If anybody knows how to logoff, then problem solved!

Any email client using POP3 does a logon/get mail/logoff pass. I've never seen any client stay logged on. What makes you think it is not logging off after retrieving mail?

Sorry, I haven't explained myself very well. It's the email app on the phone that we want to be able to log off. We don't want the app open on the phone 24/7. Apart from not being able to log off, it looks like the stock email app will do everything we want it to, so we may just have to live with that.

I guess I didn't answer clearly. But after rereading my post, I'm not sure how to be clearer. When using POP3 mail, all email clients logon the mail server, retrieve mail, and log off the mail server.

Again, what makes you think it is not logging off?

I think he means, that he wants the email to require a login everytime he opens in. In which case it's counterintuitive in the way that in that situation, the app can't check and alert you if you have new email.

If you want to secure the email app from prying eyes, you can just put a lock on the app so that it requires a password on opening, just use a security app like AppLock. Security apps like Bitdefender and Avast have the feature too.

That's right, I want to login to the app every time I want to access the emails. I don't want any alerts or notifications sent regarding emails. I just want the ability if I am away from the office & somebody sends me an email that needs addressing immediately, to be able to do a one-off.

If I want to access emails on my phone I want to enter a password each time. I will check out the security apps, sounds like that will address my issue.
