Email app won't work

I can't get the Samsung email app to work it says server not responding, I downloaded Bluemail and using the same settings it worked first time. I would prefer to use the Samsung app what am I doing wrong ?
 
Sounds like a basic configuration error, some setting that needs to get corrected your email app. What email service are you using?
 
Dataflame appears to be a web hosting and online server service, I didn't see much on their site as far as email services. Is your email suffix something like yourname@dataflame.com or yourname@dataflame.net?
 
Hello and thanks for your efforts to help, I own my own domain so my email address is "anything@mydomain.com" I have unlimited mailboxes and am attempting to use my main one. I am disappointed with the Samsung app because with Bluemail I just had to put in my email address and password and it worked first time.
 
You have answered your own query/question, don't use the stock email app, its junk! Why would you prefer to use this, when the bluemail app is better? oh and actually works :)
 
Well OK I just wanted to get it working but after looking more closely at Bluemail's settings I think I'll stick with that. Thanks all for trying to help
