Help Email Help!!

I really do love this phone...but certain things are irking me because I just can't figure them out! I have gmail..and I get my email on my phone. Is there a way to make it not automatically check it all the time? Like can I go in and hit the check button thing to get the emails to come through when I want? Also...When I delete my emails off my phone, I log into gmail on my computer and theyre all still showing as new emails. HELPPP!!

Yes. Should I not? When i went into mail it told me to go through the gmail app.

If you are using the GMail app you have some options.
Open GMail app: click the menu button>label settings>sync messages>Sync: None. This will keep messages from coming to your phone until you manually check for them.

Ok, I unchecked it and it let me manually check my email, but it wont delete from my actual inbox on the computer if I hit delete on my phone.

If I CHECK that box, it comes through when an email does, and if I delete it from my phone it also deletes it off the computer. So is this the only way to have that option???
