Help Email issues - synching on computer

Hi - I just got a new computer and Microsoft Office. My Office has Outlook 2010. I also have Droid 2 which I use to check email. I didn't like what Outlook was doing, so I downloaded Windows Live Mail. It behaves the same way , in that when I delete something from my phone, it deletes on my computer, even if I have filed it where I want it. On my old computer, which had windows mail (vs. Windows Live Mail) once I had downloaded an email onto my computer, it would stay until I deleted it from there, regardless of what I did on my phone. I often like to keep emails to reference for later, but my phone doesn"t allow for easy drag and drop filing and rules the way my windows mail did. I don't want the extra clutter on my phone, I only like to have emails there that require immediate attention. Can you help? Thanks!
