email notification not able to shut off after recent update

After a recent update, I don't see the option in the menu to turn off the email notification. It vibrates and makes a slight tone every time I get an email. I don't want to put the phone on silent entirely, still want text tones, but not email. I tried going into the settings under the email account but there is no option for notifications.
