Email Notification won't Update Automatically

Just got Droid 4 ten days ago. Everything was fine the first week, but now phone won't update hotmail messages automatically; the only way it will receive new emails from my hotmail account is if I manually refresh.

I thought it was because I had to change my password on my hotmail account, but I have now gone to the email account settings on the Droid and updated my hotmail password. No luck. Can anyone help? BTW, is there a REAL user manual I can buy, rather than the "joke" that comes in the box?

Maybe turning on data push might do the trick, if it's not already on. The trick might be to double check all your e-mail settings.

Thanks for the response. Data push is already on. I've checked it and all other settings I can think of.

If I recall correctly, the stock email application won't do it correctly, but the stock Gmail app does. It's weird, and I know that doesn't help you with a hotmail address.

I suggest getting another email app. I have never used it, but have heard nothing but good things about the K9 Email application.
