email Notifications, not working while charging READ!!!

Update to those following my other thread.

I factory reset the phone after i used odin to flash factory rom. Installed latest ATT update. Setup google account and again put the phone on wireless charger, after 10 mins of no activity send myself emails from different accounts from the PC and No email notifications at all with just Mobile Network only turned on. I tested this with wired charging and the result is the same.

This is quite a headache, with phone off charger it works fine. I'm sure if more people did this test they would see same problem.

If there are others who can also test this i would appreciate it. I have contacted samsung and they created a ticket but no way to know when if it will be resolved.

Test condition:
1. Charge phone, wired or wireless, only turn on Mobile network, no wifi!!!
2. Leave the phone untouched and idle for 10+ mins
3. during this time no txt or phone calls otherwise it will reset the sleep flag
4. after 10+ mins of no activity send yourself emails from a desktop or another phone. You should in theory get notifications but I'm willing to be you will not.

I plugged my AT&T 64GB Edge into the stock charger but use an EZO power cable. Wifi was off.
I sent emails to my Edge via my work Exchange account and my alternate Gmail account.
In both cases my device registered new emails in the notification bar while plugged in and charging.
I did the same unplugged with duplicate results.

Note: I am using the Gmail app not the built in Samsung mail app.

Thanks for testing first and foremost. When you did this test did you make sure during the 10-15 mins while the screen was off you didn't get any sms or phone calls? Also what was your battery percentage when you tested this? My tests have always been at 100% so the phone is basically trickle charging if you will.

You mentioned new emails in the notification bar, you shouldn't see the notification bar if the screen is off. What happens is you will see the led blink but in my case and many others there is no audible notification. Also I'll have to test this but when i tested this repeatable condition it was with a max of 1A charging (wireless or plugged into usb 3.0 port (900mAh)) The factory charger is 2.1A or greater so I don't know if that does affect the results. However if your phone is near 100% charge it should not matter.

Would it be possible for you to repeat this test but only send yourself an email to your Gmail account only which is using GCM aka IMAP IDLE as opposed to exchange in which most cases it is a true Push account type.

thanks again and I will pass this a long to ATT and Samsung.
