Email notifications stopped working!

I noticed that I was not getting push email sent to my exchange account and also stopped receiving email notifications from my Verizon account. The emails are coming through but I am not getting any notifications! Ive tried rebooting phone, reinstalling email accounts and clearing cahce partition and clearing cache in email app still nothing!!!! Any ideas???

edit: Ok I deleted the data and cache from email app and reinstalled both email accounts. Seems to be working now.

Do you receive notification when N5 is awake? Because i miss notification when my phone is a sleep but when i wake it up i get notifications! Sometimes is definitely wrong...

It seemed that it was both ways. It has been working fine for the last few days though.
