Email problems with Galaxy S

I'm having a problem geting my POP email to work on my Galaxy S.

What i am trying to do is set it up or i can recieve email on my Galaxy S while out, but also be able to retrieve and keep them on my PC.

What i have at the moment is that i can receive them on my phone as long as i haven't opened them in Outlook, but if i have received them on my phone first, they don't show up in Outlook. So its one or the other but not both. I have set both the phone and Outlook to leave messages on the server.

To further complicate this, once i have read them on the phone, they disappear from the inbox and seem to be lost forever.

Hope thats makes sense and that somebody can help!

I don't have a Galaxy S, and I don't know which email client you are using, but most email clients have a place to say whether you want to keep mail that you read on your phone on the server, or delete it from the server.

You want to make sure the phone is not deleting the email from the server.

The reason that when you read email on Outlook you can't get to it on the phone is because you have Outlook set to delete the mail from the server when read, which is what most people do, as otherwise, the inbox on the server is never emptied and eventually your mailbox will be full.

If you need to see the emails on both your computer and your phone, there are many strategies that will accomplish this. The simplest strategy is to forward all your Outlook emails to a special account that you only read on your phone, or to have your phone's gmail account read your Outlook account.

Thanks. I've aready set it to keep files on the server, but it didn't seem to work. However, i've got it to work using imap, and now have mesages stored on both the phobe and outlook. Still not prefect as i can't get messages sent from outlook (which have to be smpt) on the phone, but works the other way around.
