IMAP as you probably know, leaves emails on the server and just downloads them as required. POP downloads to the device and the email may be deleted from the server at that point, depending on the settings of your email client.
If both your computer and device are configured to use IMAP and there are no other options that would make an email be deleted from the server, and hence be unavailable to the other device, it sounds like it is your computer email account configuration that needs sorting out, rather than your device as it sounds like your device is downloading the emails correctly.
