email video over wifi only?

I tried taking a video with the droid app, then email it, says too large. only over a wifi network? my Samsung omnia, or windows mobile devices never forced this. any ideas?

There's an app called Qik you can download which takes full HD videos and shares with with either contacts or Facebook/Youtube, etc.
