Email vs Text Message Ringtone

Is there a way to disable the notification of a gmail email and still have notification on for text messages? When I am on call it's 24x7 and I don't want to be awaken for every gmail message that comes in during the night but need to be alerted when a text message arrives.

Is this possible to do?

get into the gmail app then go to settings, you should be able to remove the checkboxes for notifications for gamail only

If you want a really fast way to toggle it on and off, get the Power Control widget (1Hx4W, included with the Acclaim) and put it somewhere. Then just tap Sync (two arrows in a yin-yang setup) to turn it on and off. (Out of room? Hit the Market and get the Home Switcher and LauncherPro apps; the latter replaces your Home and the former lets you choose between them. The latter also lets you have up to seven home screens. I'm rocking five right now.)
