Email - Wi-fi & 3G

Can anyone please advise why my emails will come through when connecting to server via 3G but they will not come through when connected via own home wi-fi 'Netgear' modem ? Why should this make any difference? Do I need to set something up on my phone to allow my wi-fi connected broadband to receive my emails? Thank you .
 
Strange - the issue is normally the other way around!

If it's the same issue, then it's related to the SMTP server. Your network may hav\e it's own one, say something like smtp.t-email.co.uk. You could try using that ..
