Emergency contact app?

I am looking for a free app that can display emergency contact info with a tap. Must be accessible even when the screen is locked. This would be useful if I have to go to the hospital and I'm knocked out or otherwise unable to give the information myself. Any suggestions?

Most phones let you set a text string to be displayed on the lockscreen. You could use that to display emergency contact information without having to install a potentially-sketchy app.

What phone do you have? Maybe we can guide you through the process. :)

Don't count on anybody checking your phone.

If you're KO'd somewhere, they might be more likely to check for a dog-tag than to look for a phone and possibly seeing what's on it. Well that's what they do in movies. Also it's a lot harder to break a dog-tag or bracelet than a phone, particularly if doing extreme sports, armed combat, or whatever.

If you're badly damaged and incapacitated for whatever reasons, there's a good chance your phone could be badly damaged as well. A MedicAlert tag is not. :thumbsupdroid:

I have a Samsung Note 3 with Verizon. If anyone is willing to show me how to display a string of characters on the lock screen, that'd be appreciated!

On my S3 running 4.4.2 I can edit my lock screen info by going into Settings >> My device >> Lock screen >>Lock screen widgets >> Owner information.
