Help emoticon isnt working in text field

on my note 4, when i hit the emoticon/smiley icon to add a emoji from the text field nothing shows up. it used towrk just fine up to 2 days ago. did i do something to turn this off?

1) Try a cache wipe of your keyboard app.
2) If that doesn't do the trick,try a cache partition wipe.
3) If yet it still persists,try a different keyboard.

I'm using the stock Samsung keyboard. How do I do a cache wipe?

A cache wipe prolly isn't necessary.

Tried all that. Still same issue. Not sure why it all.of a sudden stopped working. Other than a factory restore I'm lost. Not wanting a restore.lol
