Emulation ...

Okay, screw Tegra zone and PC streaming... let's talk about the REAL reason why many of us will be picking this up :) I know a lot of you don't see the value in a portable device with physical controls permanently attached, that can play almost every video game ever made from the late 70's to the mid 90's, while others of you will keep buying those $150 cheap, Chinese pieces of crap, and then spend days trying to figure out how to make it not suck. But this thread is for the rest of us ...

For those of you who aren't waiting for a price drop, fire up MAME4Droid Reloaded, and let us know how those 90's Midway arcade games run :) My 1st gen Nexus 7 will run some of them ok (like Smash TV), but chokes on others, like NARC and Mortal Kombat. Hoping the Tegra 4 will give it that extra 'umph', and maybe even run some of the later ones, like Wrestlemania.

Assuming this thing doesn't die a premature death, it will be the last gaming device I'll ever need, for at least as long as the battery holds out.

I'm the mame4droid developer.

And yes. :)

Shield runs all 2d games at full speed like umk...

In fact, I have added specific support for shield on mame4droid reloaded and runs out of the box all games great.

Enjoy.

Fantastic! I haven't tried the latest couple of builds yet, but I wanted to say thanks for adding in support for the Shield, and esp for adding auto fire. That is much appreciated by my trigger finger :)

after trying a few emulators on it, i have to say some of them suck.

they only suck because they do not support controllers, mind listing all that do :P?

i am far to lazy to do it myself honestly.
