Enabling touchscreen on andriod TV box?

Lurker
I've got an android TV box (NEO X8-H Plus) and I'm trying to get a touch screen working with it. It has a custom ROM / firmware update to maximise it as a TV box as per http://www.minixforum.com/forums/official-firmware-releases.96/. I'm assuming these firmware updates are compiled and so if I need to alter a couple of files I need the source code which I don't think is available. Is there a way to create a module and add it to the running system? If I do need to alter source code and compile what set up do I need. I think the code I'll need to alter is in the linux kernel? I have windows OS and know nothing about linux . Touchscreen support on other setups ends up with a ko file in modules which is not present in firmware. Does anyone know what classes are required to form this module - hid-multitouch.ko? Much thanks in advance for any help...
