If you have Wi-Fi and mobile data enabled so that if Wi-Fi not working it switches to mobile data..Does this use more battery by having both enabled?

WiFi takes president until certain conditions are met before reverting to data. If WiFi is on and the WiFi signal is weak data will be enabled. What will use more battery is the WiFi seeking a better signal while data is enabled.

Thats got to be up for clumsy statement of the year!

OP, technically yes on paper there is a cost of battery since the product is using two different radios to switch between.

will it be enough battery cost to matter? if you are frequently in and out of wifi-mobile/fringe areas during the day, then the back and forth of using the radios in the device will make some hit in battery life.

of course other environmental conditions factor into this (location of nearest cellular tower, how busy the cell tower is, is the wifi you are on close or far away, time of day, etc. etc etc..) and its difficult to give you a very accurate response.

you should enable the option and test in the areas you frequent, noting the battery performance along the way. this will give you the most accurate answer.
