Encryptd SD card files visable on pc

For my SD card that I have on my phone I have the option enabled to encrypted all files that are transferred to it, but when I plug my phone into my pc it can read the files on card. Is this a bug or are they only visible because the card is in my phone?

Not a bug, if the pics are decrypted and visible to the phone then they'll be visible to a connected PC as well. However if you try the micro-SD directly with a PC card-reader and not the phone then nothing will be readable and visible.

Recent Android versions (like 6.0.1 on my current phone) ask on the phone if you want to allow a connection when you connect the USB cable to a PC, so you would have to allow the connection from the unlocked phone. Earlier Android versions like 4.3 on my previous phone only required the the phone be unlocked to access it via USB cable. In either they are only visible on your phone or via USB when your phone screen is unlocked.
