Encrypted SD Cards

My apologies if this is a dumb question, by I am just a "regular" Android device user. I know very little more than simply using devices.

Wondering if I can save myself some trouble setting up a new phone. Can an encrypted SD card be used in a new device if that device has been set up with the same PIN/password?

Thank you for any information.

It will depend on how you encrypted the card. But unless you have used some strange 3rd party app that lets you encrypt a card with a user-supplied key then the answer is going to be "no". And if your card is encrypted because you formatted it as internal storage then definitely not, the encryption key is not based on your lockscreen or Google password.

Nothing fancy here, Hadron. I used the stock Android "Encrypt SD Card" setting. So, I will make sure to decrypt the card in the old phone before transferring it.

Thank you for your time and expertise.
