Encryption on rooted/non rooted devices.

First and foremost, I should of posted this in the root section, my apologies.

So I'm rooted with MetroPCS 6.0, and for the life in me can't get full phone encryption or even quick encryption to work on this phone,

My question is, has anyone rooted or not rooted been able to encrypt their phone. And if you're rooted and encrypted, how'd you do it?
