Epocrates is Here!

That's right fellow medical professionals using Android. I haven't even played with it yet, so hopefully I'm not too disappointed. It's about time.
 
I got the email today too. I went to download it and I can't find it. It's not in the app store as per my search, and when I click the link to download direct (in the email) it's a broken link!

Anyone else having my luck today??

It is for android 1.6 and higher if you happen to have a lower version it isn't available.
 
Also not able to get it. Don't know how to find out what android version I have or how to get a higher one. Didn't know if it had to do with the Eris as opposed to the Moto Droid. I just got my Eris last month how can I have an outdated version already!! Any help would be appreciated.
 
I looked into it... apparently eris will not be getting 1.6, we will only get the version 2 when it rolls out.
To see your current version go to home --> menu --> settings -->about phone and it will be listed under firmware version.
I was bummed to find this out. I've been waiting forever for them to release epocrates for android and now its here, but you have to have 1.6. Pfft.

lol what? You're bummed that you're getting Android 2.1 instead of Android 1.6? Can't say I follow that logic.

Epocrates is available for versions 1.6 and up... not JUST 1.6.
 
Yes I am bummed that I have to wait even longer for epocrates b/c it was released for 1.6 and up. Especially after getting psyched for it when I saw an email in my inbox saying it had FINALLY come to android. Since I can't get 1.6, I have to wait for the infamous 2.1 that may take forever to get here....

Ahhh ok this makes sense now. I misread it. Thought you were saying you were bummed about finding out that eris is getting 2.1 and not 1.6.. so I was like :confused:

AARRRRRGGGG. The developers let so little information come out while they worked on this Android application. Letting us know that 1.6 was going to be a necessity certainly would have helped me pick my phone. All of these Android phones are hitting the market at the (relative) same time as Epocrates is trying to roll out. I'm stuck with the Moment phone with no firmware upgrade for at least a couple of months. I got tired of dragging both my old Treo AND my new phone around so I let the Treo die.

Bump on this thread. Just picked up an Incredible and installed Epocrates. For some reason when I go to search for a drug, the search screen turns dark and then just sits there. Can anyone comment on that? Was wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks!

Wondering the same thing... anyone?
 
Problem is the Epocrates for Android still beta
missing almost all of the functionality of the
full program.. I email Epocrates sounds like they
are working on it but for now for me it is pretty useless

Works fine for me for what I use it for. I look up drugs and use the medical math to check dosing calculations. I'm a Clinical Research Associate so I have to make sure everyone is doing their math correctly (among other things) and that doses recorded make sense.
