Help Equalizer Settings Have Disappeared After Reset

My phone had become very sluggish, particularly the messaging app, so I carried out a hard reset. Everything has returned to normal now but the equalizer settings have gone! I only have the option to switch Beats audio on or off when my headphones are connected.
Firmware version is 2.08.401.2.
Can anyone help?

In case anyone is interested, I have been informed by HTC support that the phones equalizer options/settings were removed in the software update to 2.08.401.2.
Its Poweramp for me from now on.
 
Apparently the Beats Audio " is basically the other sound enhancements in one to give me the optimal sound experience".
Clever eh? HTC have invented the perfect music player.
 
If the equalizer settings disappeared with the 2.08 upgrade, then why don't I have them? I have 1.08
