Erase device command-google find my device.

I stupidly left my Zenpad at airport security search but had already boarded the plane before I realised. I contacted lost property as soon as, but after 3 days hadn't had a reply. So I logged into my Google account and used the erase command in find my device.

Now I understand that this can't be countermanded obviously. But 5 days later airport lost property answered my email to say they had located my tablet! Now I have it back and it is turned off but before I turn it on and lost the information, what exactly is it deleting? Just my personal info and files? or is it completely wiping the tablet clean of everything - operating system the lot?

If its the latter how do I go about recovering it to a useable condition?

It's just a factory reset - it doesn't erase the OS, just your apps and data.

You will need your Google password to use it, since unless it's very old it will have factory reset protection (i.e. will require you to enter your Google login before you can use it). But as long as you aren't one of the people who forgets that there should be no problem.
