I just picked up an S3 for my daughter and am having a puzzling issue. When I try to connect to my TP-Link WR741ND, I get "authentication error occurred." Here's the skinny:
1. No security on router
2. Reset both phone and router to factory settings
3. Turned off WIFI power save mode on phone
4. Can successfully connect the S3 to access points set up on Sony Xperia and Galaxy 7 (with and without encryption)
5. No WPS
6. Galaxy J1, 3 Moto and two phones in #4 have no issues
7. Tried to set a static IP - no good
8. On WIFI list on phone, full signal associated with the router. Sometimes when I try to connect, the signal meter drops out completely and then returns.
9. TP-Link network shows as "saved" on the list. Clicking to connect results in a quick "connecting" message before it returns to "saved." Only some of the time does it show the "authentication error occurred"
Any ideas?
