Error -24 during installation of app

Lately my SGS3 experiences spontaneous boot-loops. These can be solved by removing and reinserting the battery. However, the last time this resulted in a "sort of" factory reset; part of the installed applications is gone, but not all.
Now, when I try to reinstall purchased app's through the Play Store I get an "unknown error during the installation of the app: '-24'".
I've already tried to wipe the cache and data of Play Store and Play Store Services. To no avail. Google search comes up empty.

Does anyone recognize this (or better, know how to solve this?)
 
Yeah.

That error occurs on a failed installation or uninstall.

Essentially, the app is not there - but a piece or folder is left behind. The Play Store says the app isn't there and then the installer disagrees.
