Error message from Google Play App (even when not using it)

I am fairly new to android devices so I apologize if this is a dumb or repeat question. Also, Hi!

Sorry for the length, there's summary at the bottom but I wanted to provide details in case they helped.

I recently purchased a Trio Stealth Lite 4.3" Internet Tablet with an android 4.0 OS. I have had problems with the amazon app store (I have had to re-install it every single time that I want to use it), so I thought I would try using google play. I ended up downloading the apk installer from the amazon app store on my computer, then transferring it to my tiny tablet. Then I had to download google play, again using my computer before transferring it to the tablet. After this I went through signing in to my google account and browsing around the apps. Finally having found the app I wanted (something that finds album artwork since I bought this device mainly for it's functionality as an mp3 player that might actually be able to show the pretty album art instead of just titles) I clicked "install". I received the error message "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped"

I decided that Google Play must have just not wanted to work at the time, maybe because my internet connection faltered or something, so I decided to wait a bit and try again. This time I could not even access the google play store app at all. I clicked the app and got the same error message before even seeing a pretty screen to give me hope. I decided to try ignoring it, and every few minutes this same error message pops up.

What I have already tried (but am still willing to try again if it helps):

After looking through forums I have: restarted my device, cleared the cache, (cleared the cache and then restarted too), force stop and restart of the app, re-installed the Google Play Store app, un-registered and re-registered my google account on the device, and most of the things listed were tried in some combination as well, just to see what happened.

I have tried to install the app (the album artwork one) from the browser on my device. I have tried to hold the device at some mystical proper angle. I have no idea what to do anymore.

Summary:
_________________
To sum up information about the tablet, it is a:
Trio Stealth Lite 4.3" Internet Tablet
Model number M4302
Android Version 4.0.4
Baseband version 1.5.1
Kernel version 3.0.8+
Build number 66V1-R1-H1-H01-2728.20130220
I am in the US, using a Windows 7 computer if any of that helps at all.

Again, I keep getting the error "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped" even when not messing with the store. I cannot access the store app at all (I just get that error message when I try) and I cannot download apps from the store in the browser on my device (even though it recognizes my device and claims to be fine with it).

In short, I feel like this -->, and want to feel like this -->:D, or even this -->:smokingsomb:, just something other than confused really.

You cannot side load Play. It will always crash like that. The trio is a cheap Chinese tablet and likely not supported, and to get play one would need to root, install a custom recovery, then flash the gapps.zip file within recovery. I do know the trios are pre-rooted as I have one as well. But not sure if a custom recovery will work on the thing.

Sorry but that is uninformed advice. You can put Google Play Store in a a system app or data app. Copy & past or click to install.

Your problem is the trojon Google Play Services the sneaky little thing snikes right in there with out even asking but gets its wires crossed when it tries to connect with Google Play & needs rewired. If you clear the data on both apps at the same time then sign into Google it usually fixes it the first time.

I realize this is more then likely to late for the OP but hopefully the next person that turns to Google Search & picks this site will get the correct information.

However this isn't for all devices. Some devices do require the apps to be signed to put them into system/app.

i managed to get chinese tablets to work with Play. if they're pre-rooted as they often are, copy the two APKs 'play services' and 'play store' into /system/app. do NOT change permissions, and then restart the device. if successful, you should immediately get update notifications from the Play Store after it reconnects. tapping the Play Store icon would load it normally. Play Services.apk is required for the store as well as apps like Play Music and Play Books. i successfully got a generic tablet running Play as if it came with it out of the box (Mach Speed Trio). i am currently testing the ability to do the same when i root a new device, also generic, an Android netbook. once rooted i'll see if Play will work, then try my hands at custom recoveries and ROMs

The local Big Lots here has a current crop of generics, mainly D2 Pads, that run 4.1 and seem to have pre-installed the Play Store. i was actually considering them for the same purpose but having Play already installed ruined the point. the Mach Speed Trios are identical in hardware to the Emerson/Polaroid devices they sell, and i wanted to see if other types of hardware would work.
