Help Error uploading image

MoodyBlues

Compassion is cool!
I've tried uploading a screenshot in this post, but after it reaches 100% I get an error message that it's too large for the server to handle. Its size? ≈2MB.

I've uploaded much bigger images in the past.

Is this a known issue?

ETA: I've tried a few more times, including today, 03/10/19, with the same result.

This happened to me also on a smaller file, but a retry worked (before AF went down).

Maybe this happened to you because of bugs in AF ever since the site went down a few days ago. I've been having lots of issues ever since.

hmmm.... Maybe get a new photo app, love my QuickPick, it will allow me to upload anything any size I desire.

The gremlins were messing with the servers a week or so ago and I think they changed some settings. Perhaps the size isn't necessarily a MB resttiction but one of pixel dimensions? Just guessing here, but if you reduce the size (dimensions) maybe it will post?

This image is 5294 X 3520 px and is a little over 500k

I tried an image that was around 600k and 6021 px wide but I got the file size error, so the threshold is somewhere between those two.

Okay, I just tried again with the original image, whose dimensions are 1440x2560, 2.3MB. Fail.

I downsized it to 1125x2000, 2.0MB. Fail.

Resized again, down to 844x1500, 1.6MB. Success!

I hope this helps troubleshoot the issue.

Also, for whatever it's worth, these attempts were made on one of my computers (SeaMonkey/Linux), which verifies that the issue isn't exclusive to mobile (Chrome/Android).

Yeah, I've been having the same problem. I was going to post a photo of the busted screen on the screen door (ok, really boring but maybe diagnostic) on off topic but no dice. If I can figure out how to shrink it enough, maybe I'll try again. By the way, when I tried to find new alerts it said I didn't have any and I had to get here by using email alert instead.
