error while recording video

Hi!
I was recording a video a few days ago. I have a samsung galaxy 3.
While I was recording I got an error , 'warning recording failed'
The screen froze.
I touched the stop button, screen still frozen, I waited a minute and it went to the home screen.
The video was saved with my other videos but had a white screen, when I tried to play it, it said, can't play video.
I looked at the video details it shows, 1.2 gb
Is there anything I can do to play/recover this video?
Whatever I need to do, this video means a lot and I hope its not gone.

If you can get the video on a PC, try and open it with VideoLan Client. If the video was truncated, the camera crashed without ending and closing the video properly, the phone's stock media player may not be able to deal with it. VLC can be much better at this.
