Help ES file explorer Chinese

Philip D

Lurker
I installed ES File Explorer yesterday to use to sort music lead sheets into folders. I upload Word files to Google Drive then save the files on my Nexus 10. Viewing them in WPS Office is no problem, but once I move files into ES folders and open them they open in what looks like Chinese characters. There must be a simple setting but I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks for helping.

Have you tried changing the language to English as opposed to auto? Hit the menu button (3 lines in the top left of the app), Settings, Display Settings, Language Settings (down at the bottom of the page).

Have your documents got any unusual characters in them? You say "music lead sheets into folders" is that music notation, sheet music or something? WPS or ES, both being Chinese, might show Chinese characters for things they don't recognize.

Maybe you could post some screen-shots as to what's actually happening?

OK, could you post some screen-shots of the actual problem, might give me a better idea of what's happening here.

BTW I'm really AF's authority on anything that's Chinese. :D

That looks like an encoding problem, the PDF is complete gibberish. What did you use to make that PDF? Can you post original Word DOC files? So can get a better look at this.

I'm using WPS and ES myself, for English and Chinese documents, and never seen anything like this.
