ES File Explorer - Data Theft

Hi,

I recently heard the news of data theft by ES File Explorer. Heard that it is not safe. I have uninstalled it from my mobile. Is it true?

Yes it has been for years and was recently pulled from the play store because of it.

I think the short version was that they were bought by a parent company of Cheetah Mobile and been data mining since.. WPS office (formerly Kingsoft Office) is similar issue)

Oh! So WPS Office has a similar issue of data theft? I was not aware of that. I use WPS Office extensively. Should I uninstall it?

The new ones, yes. I still use an old one they hadn't modified yet

Yes but no the pro version it was justified by the free version
