ESPN Scorecenter Sux

Is it just me or does the ESPN app suck. It is laggy and the interface looks like dirt ass.

This is a big disappointment from ESPN. I thought we would finally have a replacement to ScoreMobile and SportsTap.

ESPN needs to scrap this project and start over.

I agree. It's really no better than the ESPN.com mobile site. Uninstalled it about five minutes after I loaded it. Waste of phone storage space.

SPORTSTAP is the best widget. LIVE SCORES is best for following game live. ESPN is a link to ther site and widget stinks. Can't go back to older games like TAP

Agree, theres potential for the ESPN one but Sports Tap is the Best. Google just fell apart and while Score mobile is decent it isnt as good as ESPN and uses as much battery .

ESPN is extremely laggy and not being able to slide from screen to screen is a disappointment. I have found that it is extremely accurate though. Score Mobile was always a half inning behind.

I'm going to continue to use Sports Tap, which is pretty accurate, until there's an update for Scorecenter.

I have found that if you're rooted/overclocked and use the "AdFree Android" app, ESPN Scorecenter is much less laggy! It's actually usable.

I just added it yesterday and threw the widget on one of my screens to try it out. I'm fairly certain it completely killed my battery all on its own. Gone.

I tried the ESPN version and was surprised and disappointed in how bad it was. A buddy of mine has SportsTap on his EVO and raved about it. I uninstalled espn and sportstap is fantastic. BTW, the only way I get updates is if it is OPEN. It doesn't turn itself on when your team is playing.

Wow, not much love for ESPN here.

I actually disagreed a bit in my review, though I will agree that it can be laggy at times. Still, overall, I found the updates to be faster than the other three reviewed (SportsTap, ScoreMobile, Google). I do like the notifications that SportsTap offers, so it's a close call.

Just another opinion...

ESPN Scorecenter got an update today. Same something about better widget monitoring.

Still no notification system though.

Anyone actually see any real improvements?

has anyone else had any problems with the app saying that it is always getting data and not showing scores?

see i havent even updated to 2.2 yet, i have a droid x still running the updated 2.1. it didnt start doing it until recently. i just now uninstalled it though and thought i would give sports tap a shot. i like it so far in the ten minutes i have had it lol

Scorecenter doesn't even have a category for golf!

No PGA news, but they have bass fishing news.

Go figure that one out.

I haven't uninstalled it yet for some reason, but I sure don't use it.

To me it's the best for near-live information of games. It is lacking in UI and I don't use the widget but if I'm somewhere I can't watch a game I find the live scoring of a game to be the best in terms of information and speed compared to all the others. Since this is what I use the app for, I find it the best.

battery life is a ton better since i deleted scorecenter. liked the layout and the "espn feel" of it, just didnt like the technical problems enough to deal with it. always a fan of better battery life too

The ESPN Fantasy Football app scrolls so smooth. Also, when you click on a game in the NFL Scoreboard section, it doesn't take you to the mobile web. I wonder why they can't make Scorecenter just as functional? The UI's look very similar, but there's no comparison in performance.
