So this is a pretty common error. But in my case nothing fixed it.
I have tried:
- Resetting Play Store to factory version.
- Putting the latest version of Play Store.
- Deleting it's cache, data and restarting my phone.
- Resetting Android Download Manager (deleting it's data, force stopping, disabling-renabling.)
- Deleting my Google Account and then adding it back again.
- Factory resetting.
What more can I do? Do I need to root this device? If anybody is wondering what I'm using, it is a re-branded chinese phone. The brand is Allview, and the model is X2 Soul Lite. I didn't have any backups, however Google did want to install all my apps back after my factory reset but of course it doesn't work.
I also have a 6.0 user made ROM available but this thing only has 1GB of RAM so yeah..
