EVERYTHING silent and text vibration?

Its probably just because I am a **** but can you make it so when you put it on silent you cant hit the volume up and down on the Motorolla Droid...

Also can I make my notifications vibrate instead of sound or no sound?

If you go into the particular App that you only want vibrate alert go to menu in that App then you will see in the list notifications and vibrate which you can check or uncheck There are also widgets on the market that will allow you to do this with some notifications which you could put on your homescreen. I use 'Ringer Toogle Widget' that has three options, vibrate only, silent, sound.
