EVO 3D Refund?

Hi all,

So I've had the Evo 3D activated for about 4 days before it started giving me all these errors about "radio interface shortage" after I sent a message then I received a text from my gf who had sent one six hours earlier. replied and then received one she had sent 40 minutes earlier. Went to the gym and then tried to make calls but it would just show it as "dialing" with no ringing or dialtone. I live in Boston, MA so I'm not really in the boondocks although I got the same message when I was traveling through NJ. The reception bars also have solid bars when this is happening. So updated my profile and PRL a couple of times and then the phone worked...

My questions are:
1) Will they refund what I paid for BeyondTalk if I return the phone under the full money back guarantee?
2) I like this phone and some people seem to be really happy with it so I want to keep returning and buying a new one until I can get through at least 2 weeks with no issues. (unless someone suggests I get a different VM phone?). Is this problem going to just get worse?
3)Will rooting my phone help the problems?
4)I called to start the return process but they swayed me and said that they could do some kind of system reset or update on their end? Is that BS or can they really do something over there?

Thanks!

1. Not that I know of.
2. It's a awesome phone, this problem is on their end though. It isn't the phone at all.
3. Read up, hell yea it does.
4. Yes and no, all they do is a temporary fix by re-activating or something.

I hope this helps you

Usually, that is all you need to do to fix the problems you are having. But, I would test it out some more before the return period ends.

Rooting can help but you want to be sure the PRL and Profile updates you did were the fix since you are still in the return period

Thanks Tube and dwappo,

Haven't had a problem since first updated profile and PRL also called them up and had them do the reactivation thing...but not sure if they just had me turn off the phone and didn't do anything to give me the placebo effect since my phone was already working.

I've read that the problem will come back again.

I actually got the radio frequency shortage message again after I got off the elevator at work when I tried to send a text. But at least I didn't get stuck on that error and I was able to send messages shortly after.

I'll keep you all posted...In the meantime if anyone else bumps into this thread make sure you don't use up a lot of minutes if you think you might return the phone because they might not refund the cost of your plan. I'm at 247 minutes and I think I can still return with plan refund but not sure. I'm on the $35 plan by the way.

Also I have a "sprint" branded VM HTC EVO V 4g in case anyone was wondering.

Well I'll give it another shot for the next 7 days and see how it goes.

Wish me luck.
